Arizona Kids Build
This program aims at educating the youth about architecture and the main goal is for students to gain and demonstrate an understanding of how the “built environment” directly affects their own well-being and that of the natural environment.
AIA Arizona Annual Design Awards
The Arizona Architecture Foundation is proud to support the AIA Arizona Annual Design Awards, a program that celebrates design excellence and innovation in architecture across the state. By recognizing outstanding projects and the professionals behind them, these awards promote public awareness of the value of design and inspire continued leadership and creativity within the architectural community.
Architectural Archives Addition, Arizona Heritage Center
Over the past 11 years the Architectural Archives Committee has been facilitating the donation of significant and hand drawn architectural collections to archives throughout Arizona. In recent years, the committee has learned that the vast majority of archival facilities are simply out of storage space. Arizona desperately needs a long-term solution for storage of architectural collections, and so has struck a partnership with the Arizona Historical Society (AHS) to design and construct an Architectural Archives Addition at their Arizona Heritage Center (AHC) in Tempe, Arizona.
AHS is a statewide organization with numerous facilities. To date, the AAF has provided a project program, proposed site location at the AHC, and a conceptual cost estimate. Based on a submitted ‘Statement of Need’, the State of Arizona looks positively upon this proposed project, but are having budget challenges and will require a few more years to secure funding.
AAF is kicking off a private sector fundraising campaign to expedite the early stages of master planning, programming, design, and engineering per the State of Arizona ‘Procurement of Services’ process. This initiative will save much time over the project schedule. Please contact the AAF for more information.
