The annual community event features presentations from the past year’s Travel Prize recipients where they speak about their independent travel and research program. It is an opportunity to share the knowledge gained and relay some of their memorable travel experiences.
On March 19, 2025, the Foundation hosted the annual Murphy & Saemisch Travel Prize Event at The Design School with presentations from Kayla Gentry, Kyle Fiano, AIA, Bradley Bowman, AIA, and Slade Sheaffer, AIA, on their travel and research.

Each year, the Foundation and The Design School host the annual Murphy & Saemisch Travel Prize Event which highlights and celebrates the accomplishments of the travel program.
Since 1983 the Curt Shafer & Rich Goewey Memorial Golf Tournament has been the leading fundraising event for the Foundation. This tradition continues after 40 years and the Foundation values its industry partners who support the event.
